About the event
Returning after 2023’s sold-out smash Mortel, Merak bring their unforgettable visual and storytelling style back to KXT’s traverse stage with a bold new Australian absurdist play that explores the raw, complex dynamics of a mother-daughter relationship. Trapped in a single, waterlogged room with only a bathtub and each other’s company, Trisha and Mummy confront themes of body image, love, and existential dread, under the oppressive gaze of the "Ever-Watching" Man.
The debut play by Gemma Burwell, Gravy reinvigorates absurdism by spotlighting female and gender non-conforming voices in a genre traditionally dominated by male perspectives.
